Wine for Christmas

Christmas is so so close now. We know you all are in the mood for celebration, but we’d like to make sure you’re doing it right. Whether you attend our Christmas Party or not, here are some recommendations for your Christmas party!

Bubble wine

Christmas always needs fizz, of course. Good champagne is properly celebratory but also properly expensive. At 88 Lounge we offer champagne at every segment. For Christmas, we recommend you to go with Spumante Rose Ilauri Abruzzo. Seductive and vibrant, this festive Pink Italian sparkle is produced exclusively in northeastern Italy with the ripest grapes. A symbol of pleasure, beauty and sumptuous parties, our sparkling rosé wine is born in select vineyards on steep hillsides bringing forth elegance and freshness.

White wine for Christmas

Look for simple, refreshing white wines that go with oysters (don’t forget that have Fine de Oyster on sale!), smoked salmon and other festive seafood treats, as well as for enjoying alone. You can try the William Fevre – Saint Bris. This is a stunning crafted Sauvignon Blanc from the little appellation of Saint Bris. No oak and very refreshing. There’s only the one producer of this wine in Saint-Bris and not far from Chablis. Look for soft tropical fruit, white currant, gooseberry and lemon zest flavors finishing crisp and clean on the palate.

Red wine for Christmas

Pinot noir is my choice for light, quaffable reds that are versatile with food, especially if you chill them a little before serving.

A bright candidate would be the Louis Jadot “Counvent des Jacobins”. This wine has a light golden color with green hints. It has a fresh and clean fragrance reminding the grape itself, as well as lemon and green apple aromas. Its freshness is well balanced by an adequate softness.

There you have it! But you know you can make things easier AND livelier if you have your party at 88 Lounge this Christmas. Let’s look forward to a great time together!
